Movie Plot

As the twentieth century dawns, World War I is about to change the landscape of Europe forever. Against a backdrop of unprecedented upheaval, The Lost Princetells the heart rendering story of an extraordinary boy at the center of the world's most powerful dynasty. The youngest child of George V and Queen Mary, Prince John is loved for his frankness by the ailing King Edward II. But this loving, insightful, and humorous child suffers from epilepsy, and mysterious learning disabilities prevent him from participating in public life. As the world edges towards World War I, his mother and his newly crowned father are increasingly distant, embroiled in world affairs, while the medical profession declares Johnnie an imbecile and an embarrassment to the family. Meanwhile Johnnie is being looked after in a remote farm house by his devoted nurse Lalla, who is determined to remind the monarchy that this special little boy is, at heart, a true prince locked inside the stubborn shell.

Born into imperial splendor, Prince John lives his short life isolated from the world -- a silent witness to one of the most explosive eras of human history.
